Dr. Alexis LaRoseA Passion for Dentistry
I love making people smile. When a patient comes in — someone who has been avoiding smiling or showing their teeth because they are uncomfortable with how they look — I can help them. When that person leaves with a giant, healthy, and beautiful smile on their face, there is simply no better feeling.
I love helping people feel comfortable coming to see me. Many patients are anxious in the dental chair, and avoid seeing a dentist for years because of that fear. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve cared for who were terrified when they came for their first visit. My goal is to work with them so they become increasingly comfortable and relaxed at each visit, learning to stop dreading dental care, and hopefully to eventually look forward to their visits.
My patients are special to me. They’re far more than patients; in fact, they’re my friends. I love watching families grow and change. I love hearing of new babies, marriages, graduations, new jobs, new homes, and retirements. I love getting to know each person, learning what they enjoy doing and hearing about their lives.
My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education
I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and graduated in the top 10% of my class. I was awarded a certificate of merit for achievement, proficiency, and promise in the field of oral medicine. I became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society.
Each year I pursue continuing education offerings locally, regionally, and nationally. By staying at the leading edge of knowledge, I am able to ensure my patients always receive the highest level of care. There are constant changes in dental technology, materials, and techniques: I need to be current on everything. Areas of recent concentration include implant dentistry, 3D imaging for implant placement and restoration, and CEREC® single-visit crowns.

Away from Work
My husband Nick is our practice manager. He has a master’s degree in business administration and a background in healthcare. Nick and I welcomed our son Grayson in May 2014. He’s a happy, smiley baby boy. Our family also includes Penny, our golden retriever, who loves having a baby around.
When I’m not caring for my patients, being with Nick and Grayson is my priority. I especially love it when we can be enjoying the outdoors together. Personally, I enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing, hiking, and camping. I love living in Coeur d’Alene, where we have access to so many wonderful recreational activities, year round!
Dr. Marie SmithA Passion for Dentistry
I have a passion for helping people through dentistry with kind, gentle treatment, and keen attention to every patient’s needs and fears. I’m thrilled to be in a field that allows me to use that passion and have a direct impact on people’s lives and health. It is important to me to truly get to know my patients and involve them in their treatment plan. Combining that and my experience with the latest technology and innovations in the field will ensure excellent results. I look forward to making your smile the best it can be.
Education and Continuing Education
I earned my undergraduate degree in biology from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. I then received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, California. Each year I pursue continuing education opportunities both locally and nationally to stay on top of the ever improving dental technology, techniques and materials.

I moved to Coeur d’Alene recently with my energetic black and white cat, Micah. I grew up in the northwest corner of Washington where my family currently lives. I love soccer and play on community recreational teams, and in my spare time I like to bake pies and other tasty treats. While I am new to the area I already love this community and all the outdoor recreational activities it has to offer. I am looking forward to hiking, snow skiing, camping, water skiing, and wake boarding here.
Maria became a part of our office in April 2015 and holds a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from Loma Linda University. She likes to relax by quilting, running, mountain biking and hiking.
Nicole joined us in December 2013. She received her Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in Billings and earned her Associate of Science in dental hygiene from Carrington College in Boise. There, she was the recipient of the Colgate Student Total Achievement Recognition Award. She feels lucky to work at our office because Dr. LaRose truly cares about the patients, employees and the community. She wants every patient who sits in her chair to feel like they received a thorough but gentle cleaning when they walk out of the door of our office.
Nicole’s family consists of her hardworking and talented fiancé Russ, her fun and loving daughter Stella and their lazy and hungry French Bulldog, Wizzie. In her down time, Nicole looks forward to traveling and go on camping trips in her family’s truck camper. She also likes snowboarding and boating. But she can always make time for a good book and bubble bath, enjoying family time, dining at her favorite restaurants and spoiling her dog.
